When celebrating their 30th year at NFL, Ravens has united their most complete and balanced list. But with the return of football there is high hope.
This is super bowl or bust. There is no other result.
In the last two seasons, Ravens has had one of the best lists in the league but appeared shortly, losing 17-10 to the Head of Kansas City in the AFC championship match in Baltimore two years ago and was angry by the Buffalo bill, 27-25, in the division in January.
But this year’s version is the best since Baltimore returned to the NFL in 1996. Franchise has won two Super Bowl titles, which is extraordinary considering there are 12 teams that haven’t won anything.
But the championship teams consisted of strong defense featuring Hall of Fame players such as Ray Lewis, Rod Woodson, Ed Reed and a potential choice named Terrell Suggs. In retrospect, violations are basically necessary not to explode.
Ravens 2025 is different, but imperfect. They still need to improve their special team with kicker and kicks again, and it still needs to be seen whether secondary can increase after making significant offseason additions.
But this violation, oh my. Almost perfect.
The Ravens has the most valuable players twice in Lamar Jackson’s quarterback, who graduated for 4,172 yard and 41 goals last season and also rushed for 915 yard and four more scores. They have one of the big backs, Multi-Guna in League history at Derrick Henry, who rushed to 1,921 Yard last season, the second in the NFL behind Saquon Barkley ‘Philadelphia Eagles.
Even the recipient is good despite the previous team’s failure to find one in the draft. The Ravens has “Super Vet” Deandre Hopkins, Rashod Bateman and Zay Flowers and the tight end of Mark Andrews, Isaiah the possibility and Charlie Kolar.
To whom Jackson?
Whoever he wants. The only problem for the Monken Todd Offensive Coordinator is to find enough touch for so many playmakers.
The offensive line is not good, but not much is in the NFL. This group struggles with a blocking pass, but that’s where Jackson gives additional dimensions with his efforts. This violation was published, pure and simple, equipped with a tempo converter who ran back at Ketonon Mitchell and the third specialist at Justice Hill.
The scenario on the other side of the ball is different, but the possibilities are unlimited.
Secondary must be increased from last year when the group was ranked 31th out of 32 teams. The Ravens made a significant increase in the second half of the season but also faced several bad quarterbacks such as Pittsburgh Steelers ‘Russell Wilson (twice), Tommy Devito’ New York Giants and Bailey Zappe Cleveland Browns.
To increase the talent level, Ravens compiled Georgia Safety Malaki Starks in the first round and signed the cornerback of Jaire Alexander’s free agent in June. Alexander is a choice of Pro Bowl in 2020 and 2022 with Green Bay Packers, but injuries have forced him to miss 20 matches during the last two seasons.
If Alexander is formed again, the defensive coordinator of Zach orr has many combinations that he can play in the backend with the safety of Kyle Hamilton near the Scrimmage line, the rise of Nate Wiggins Cornerback outside Chidobe Awuzie or Alexander and Veterans Marlon Humphrey Manning Slot.
With Chuck Pagano helping to train secondary, this group must be better to complete the running defense which is ranked No. 1 in the league a year ago. The nose handles Michael Pierce retired, but the team has a large supply in front with Linemen John Jenkins, Nnamdi Madubuike, Broderick Washington, Travis Jones and Rookie Aeneas Peebles.
What is missing?
They do not have proven kicker. Justin Tucker, perhaps the best in the league history, was released in early May and was then suspended for the first 10 matches this season for violating the league’s personal behavior policy after more than a dozen female massage therapists accused of doing inappropriate sexual behavior in several spa centers and fitness in the Baltimore area. The choice of the sixth round of Tyler Loop and Rookie that John Hoyland was not designed to compete for the job now.
Tucker and Matt Stover made a major contribution to the two Ravens championship seasons. Tucker converted 30 out of 33 field target efforts in 2012, and Stover was 35 out of 39 in 2000 when Baltimore left five matches without scoring offensive goals.
Another missing material is the game back. In 2000, Ravens had Jermaine Lewis, which averaged 16.1 yard per kick again. Lewis also has a Kickoff 84 Yard return to touchdown in the second half of the 34-7 Ravens victory against Giants on Super Bowl. In 2012, Jacoby Jones led the NFL with 1,167 Yard Kickoff and scored two goals.
There are other intangibles.
In 2000, Quarterback Trent Dilfer was very conservative but was a great game manager. In 2012, Quarterback Joe Flacco had one of the greatest postseason ever, binding Joe Montana’s record with 11 touchdown operands without intersection.
Ravens must be hot. In 2000, Brian Billick went on by running back Jamal Lewis when Lewis was finished with 1,364 yard to complete the defense that regulates the record. Flacco was extraordinary in 2012.
Jackson needs to be hot in the postseason, where he is 3-5 for eight years in Baltimore. In the eight matches, he graduated for 1,753 yard and 10 goals but had thrown seven intersepsy and lost three mistakes.
There is also a Ray Lewis factor.
Not only he was the best player at the NFL in 2000, but his personality gave energy to Ravens, especially the younger players in 2012. Without Lewis, Ravens did not win one of their two titles.
The absence of Linebacker Hall of Fame is difficult to fill. After the 2012 season, Ravens coach John Harbaugh removed Alpha’s men like Lewis, Reed, Safety Bernard Pollard and Anquan Boldin’s recipient, who forced the team to become ordinary -usually only for the next five seasons.
The years coincided with the initial season in Baltimore when Ravens did not have enough cash flow to compete on both sides of the ball to Steve Bisciotti to be a minority owner in 2000.
But now they return at speed again. Only one team has more talent than Ravens, and that is Philadelphia. Eagles defending champions can dominate with both interior lines, but they play at the NFC, so AFC is a wide open race.
Hope in Baltimore is justified, although it might function as a motivation and disturbance. But there is no more reason for Ravens to miss the Super Bowl, because this team was published. This is the most balanced easy in the history of franchises.
It’s time for them to play at the third Super Bowl.
