The dream you dream of together is reality…

My journey with this extraordinary club really makes my university’s life very colorful. Over the past three years, I have worked with countless people from all levels of society. This trip has helped me identify my potential, meet great people, form a lifelong friendship, and together do great things that can never be done alone.

Let me take you to the beginning. I started my journey as a public member in 2022, when I was a new scholar. To be honest, I don’t know what Rotaract is, I just joined to have fun and meet new people. My first path was the International Service Avenue, and I was also part of the Avenue Finance Avenue and Club Relations. (At present, the way of regional involvement)

The first project that I involved was Rotralia, the club’s first music concert that featured Wayo. This was organized by Finance Avenue together with Avenue Activity Sports and Recreation. I took the role of the coordinator of the external relations and led the fundraising team. This is where I have the opportunity to work with many people and club directors. I am also involved in the project writing project, organized by Avenue Club Relations.

I was later appointed as the team leader of Avenue Club Relations and led the team in the Rotatomorrow 3.0 competition. In my second year, I was lucky to be elected as the club’s vice president under the leadership of RTR. Roshan Rathnayaka, who is the president for 2023-2024. Roshan Ayya has become an inspiration and mentor throughout my trip, and I have learned a lot from him.

As vice president, I oversee to lead community services and professional development paths, the two biggest ways in the club, and both are performing poorly at the time. From the beginning, my vision was to make these two ways of high performance. Starting with Avenue Community Service, I am lucky to work with three extraordinary co-trading: RTR. Dinithi, RTR. Dimithri, and RTR. Wickshi, some of the most amazing people I met through Rotaract. Together, we executed the plan.

Our goal is to make Avenue as a high -performance. We want to start a project that has an impact, sustainable, unchanged and can be done for years as an initiative of the club’s signature. That’s the award winner project such as Ignite Sri Lanka and Swabasamudra appeared. When running these projects, we created a new culture on the road, which set a benchmark not only for the road, but for the club itself during my presidency. This culture is about working hard, commitment, discipline, bond, personal development, fun and most important, dreaming big together, believes in vision, encouraging ourselves to the limit, and growing as individuals in the process.

We take care of an extraordinary team in community services, many of them then become members of the council and EXCO members during my presidential period. It was a team driven by a mindset of dreaming, encouraging themselves and led the team, motivating the team and not accepting anything that was normal. We arrange the blades very high, we believe, and we achieve it. The best example is the Project Ignite Sri Lanka, the project is not like the others, and the project which is the main definition of real community services. When I came with the name of the project and tagline “Mawbima Wenuwen Sarasawi Meheyuma”, I want them to bring within their long -term goals and vision, namely developing a village every year in 6 sectors, agriculture, clean water, economy & entrepreneurship, education, health care, and empowerment of women & youth.

Completed in two years, the project began with a research phase conducted by Special OC and a separate team leading 6 parts, and more than 100 scholars who were actively involved in this large project. That gives rise to a total budget of more than the hospital. 5 million. During my presidential period, under my RTR VP. Pabamini and Co-Co-Co-Director of New Community Services RTR. Ravindu, Rtr. Dnanga and RTR. Dharshi, we can build a water purification system that serves more than 250 families every day, worth the hospital. 2.5 million and to build agro well irrigate 8 farmers who spend hospital fees. 2 million. The project won 3 gold awards and one silver award in two successive Rotaract District Assembly, including gold for the most sustainable community service initiative. Swabasmudra also won 2 gold and 2 silver awards in two assemblies.

Moving to Avenue Professional Development, I got the privilege of working with two talented co-sutradara, RTR. Sandeepa and RTR. Maryam. Together, we imagine a big initiative that will bring a lot of homework and reach, allowing the university and the Rotaract movement to really see the potential of our club. This is none other than the Abhiman Project, the first major award ceremony organized by the University club to respect the pioneer and celebrity media digital Sri Lanka. This large initiative passed the research phase and execution phase and was completed during my presidential period with the hospital budget. 1.5 million, under VP RTR. Shahmi and Co-Sutradara from Professional Development Avenue, RTR. Kabus and RTR. Safaa. This project redefines the potential of the club and increases standards for future efforts.

After being elected to serve as the 15th president of the club, I changed my vision, work ethic, and discipline in all 12 ways. I ensure that the right person is in the right role with the right resources and the right amount of freedom. After building a new work culture and Vison to be the best club in this movement, we worked hard together for a year. Believe me, leading the club 650+ members is not an easy task. The president was really challenging, it really turned me to become a leader like today.

During this time period, we completed 49 projects with a total budget of more than the hospital. 15 million, extraordinary achievements. Some of the best projects are, Rota Wasantha Udanaya, who advanced to become a big project this year with even a song compiled for it, and Kelani Henewa who created hypes for clubs in the university, the project turned on Sri Lanka and Swabaamudra under the Avenue Community Service, Abhiman and Fair Career ‘under PD, Career, Career. Writing a labyrinth by the editorial of Avenue, Rotatomorrow 5.0 by MR, Eduketha by him, Finwave by Finance, Influencia by PR and many joint projects carried out by Re Avenue.

Another great opportunity that I received through Rotaract was appointed as Chair of Career Fair ’25 organized by the Kelaniya University Career Guidance Unit, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club who led with the help of Leo Club, AIESEC, led the KLN and Gavel Club of University of Kelaniya. Here I have to lead not only my team but also to lead and coordinate with members, directors and other club presidents, finding a successful collaborative approach for all. We held eight open days and main events with 11 companies, 2300+ undergraduate registrations, 20 companies, and 500+ interviews. This is the biggest career exhibition held at universities in this new history. I am very grateful and proud to have led a transformative initiative, once in a lifetime.

This year, we can win 29 awards at the Rotaract District Council, the highest number ever won by one club in history. This includes 14 gold awards (the highest number of gold awards by any club), 8 silver, and 3 bronze awards. I am honored The most extraordinary president For the year of the Republic of Indonesia 2024-25, and my secretary, Adeesha won The most extraordinary secretary. The club is respected as The most extraordinary club this year.

All of this is possible by my Exco hard work and commitment, Board of Directors, team leaders, and all members who work hard for the success of the club. You are all really extraordinary, and I am lucky to have worked with a talented team.

When I pondered my extraordinary journey, I had a racuok, I was filled with gratitude and pride. Racuok is really a special place, and I’m sure the memories that I made in the three years will forever hold a special place in my heart. So, if you are just starting your journey with this extraordinary club, know that you are in something extraordinary, an experience that changes your life and golden opportunity.

This club will change you. It will challenge you. It will issue the best. This will help you find your hidden talent and give you a platform for your talent to receive the spotlight. Believe this. That really happened.

So, in life, take every opportunity. Dream Big. Take risks. Be friends. Challenging and challenged. Steps out of your comfort zone. Try new things. Become creative. Willing to study. Open your heart for new experiences. Learn forgiveness. Love yourself and spread that love.

I hope the new leadership of RTR. Himantha, RTR Delishia and their best team in bringing this club to a higher level.
