When the 2024/25 Premier League ends, the loan agreement during the season ended, with the players going back to their parent club.

For some people, this return is positive news, especially if they do not have time to play during their loan spells, and with new managers in their parent club, they see the opportunity to get a place in the initial lineup.

But for others, like Manchester United’s left winger Jadon Sancho, maybe it’s not like that. Sancho, who joined Chelsea with a loan right before the season began on August 31, 2024, has spent nine months prove itself a valuable asset for the team.

He might prefer to make his steps permanent, especially given the unfavorable situation at his parent club, Manchester United.

Sancho, whose goal pushed the Enzo Marsca team to finish in the top four, sealed the Champions League where the Blues, scored in his 4-1 winning team over the Real Betis Spanish team in the UEFA conference league final.

He was loaned back to Borussia Dortmund, where he showed a potential flash, and led the team to the UEFA Champions League final in 2024. However, they failed against Real Madrid.

After returning to United, he was considered a surplus, and the 25 -year -old player made one of the most interesting loan movements in the summer to Chelsea’s rival, marking pragmatic steps for his career.

Sancho, Yang, in an interview with TalkSport, claimed to be a fan of the club’s childhood named Frank Lampard, his British hero.

“I am a Chelsea fan who grew up, I could not lie! Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard were my favorite players at that time.

“I like Frank Lampard and how he played his game; he was very direct and so calm on the ball. I like things like that.”

Marsca, who has been impressed with Sancho’s appearance since joining the club, has given instructions to Blues that made the agreement permanent. The Italian boss in the post -match interview after the victory said;

“We will sit with the club and decide what happens for next year. If we finish the fourth because of the schedule, if we win tonight too because of Jadon.”

Sancho loan requirements

Jadon Sancho’s loan during the Chelsea season includes conditional obligations to buy it permanently for £ 20-25 million if the club finishs above 14 in the Premier League table.

However, the “out” clause allows blues to avoid purchases by paying a Manchester United penalty £ 5 million.

The impressive Sancho display at the West London club is likely to have increased its market value, potentially attracting the attention of other clubs if permanent transfers are not continued.

Their choice to pay a cost of £ 20-25 million or run a £ 5 million penalty clause will depend on their long-term squad strategy and the Sancho place in it.
