Romelu Lukaku’s injury and his return to the international stage could help the Red Devils reach the knockout stages of this year’s World Cup.
Romelu Lukaku’s injury problems have ruined much of the 2025/26 season for him, but he has now recovered to feature in Belgium’s squad for the World Cup.
Romelu Lukaku’s injury meant he did not start for the Belgian team in their emphatic 5-0 win over Tunisia in an international friendly on Saturday, June 6.
However, Lukaku came on as a substitute in the second half, meaning his fitness is slowly returning. Lukaku previously scored in Belgium’s win over Croatia in a recent international friendly.
Romelu Lukaku Injury: The Striker Gets His Fitness Back
Romelu Lukaku’s injury means he has only played in seven games for Napoli this season, scoring just one goal. Lukaku has won Serie A titles with Napoli and Inter Milan, and hence, his absence is a setback for Napoli, who failed to retain their Serie A title.
The upcoming World Cup will be Lukaku’s fourth as a player, as he already won a bronze medal with his country at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Apart from that, Lukaku is also one of Europe’s most productive strikers at international level, having scored 90 goals in 126 matches for Belgium.
It remains to be seen whether the 33-year-old striker will be able to add to his tally in the tournament which will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada; However, the supply of balls to him should not decrease.

Romelu Lukaku Injury: Belgian Playmaker Ready to Provide Supply
Belgium has several players who can provide the ball to Belgium’s number nine on the front line.
Kevin De Bruyne, who will be playing in his fourth World Cup, remains one of the best passers and passers of the ball. Next, there’s Jeremy Doku, a constant threat from the left flank, whose moves usually end with a final pass to the striker.
Youri Tielemans is another midfielder who is capable of providing quality crosses into the box. The 29-year-old recorded an assist against Tunisia to make his presence known in the game. Thus, Lukaku should have no shortage of providers in his team in the upcoming World Cup.
Charles De Katelaere started the match against Tunisia and also managed to score a goal. However, his record of only scoring six goals for his country in 30 matches is not comparable to Lukaku’s numbers.
Lukaku also has more than 300 goals in his club career and has experience playing for Chelsea, Manchester United, Inter Milan and Napoli. Therefore, he is much more qualified than De Katelaere to start for Belgium in the upcoming World Cup.
The Belgian team hopes that Romelu Lukaku’s injury will not stop him from appearing in the tournament. This could be the last World Cup for Lukaku, and he should be motivated to perform well at this World Cup.
Belgium’s golden generation players failed to win the 2018 World Cup and finished third. However, Lukaku must be there to make amends and achieve glory once again in the upcoming tournament in North America.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
