Black Ops 6 – Everything you need to know before the October 25 launch – PlayStation.Blog

Rejoice PlayStation players, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is almost here. In fact, we’re close to launching as of today, if you’ve pre-ordered the game – you can start pre-loading it to make sure you’re ready for day one.

Ahead of launch, today we wanted to dive deeper into MP and Zombies to make sure you didn’t miss any details. Let’s break down some of the key components around what to expect.

Multiplayer experience

From new maps and modes to new weapons and gear, Black Ops 6’s gameplay will be an experience like no other. There will be the 6v6 core mode you know and love from Call of Duty, plus a new 6v6 core mode, Kill Order, where you must eliminate High Value Target (HVT) enemies while protecting your own. Additionally, dive into Gunfight 2v2, as well as Face Off Alts from several 6v6 modes. Lastly, looking for a challenge where your match only has a limited HUD, friendly fire is enabled, and your health is down significantly? Then, get ready for Hardcore, which is scheduled to launch on select playlists.

We’ll have 16 new maps at launch split into two main categories: twelve new Core 6v6 maps and four new compact Strike maps designed to be played in a 6v6 or 2v2 configuration. We know you’ve seen some of the maps in Beta, such as Scud, Rewind, Skyline, Babylon, and Derelict, but you can discover incredible action-packed moments in maps you’ve never experienced.

There’s Lowtown, a dockside neighborhood with boathouses, fishing sheds, grates to climb and canals to swim in. There’s also the Vault, a large, lush playroom set in a desert landscape dotted with monuments, statues, a central palace, and even a luxurious atrium. And this is just scratching the surface, there are plenty more maps to explore from October 25th onwards, not to mention the collection of maps coming in the post-launch season.

There are over 20 Black Ops 6 Operators to choose from at launch, some of which are allied with Black Ops’ Rogue Faction, and others are allied with Crimson One. To give you a little background on this operator. A Black Ops rogue is on the run and hunted by his former employer. This team seeks to uncover the truth about CIA infiltration and uncover the conspiracy. Because they no longer had state support, much of their equipment was improvised, supplied by contacts from other intelligence agencies, purchased from criminals, or supplied under the promise of IOUs.

They know who is hunting them and refer to them as the “Crimson One.” Crimson One represents a CIA operation initiated to hunt down Rogue forces. This team is officially approved by the CIA and has access to all the information and tools to get the job done.

By now, you should have heard a lot about the new Omnimovement system coming to Black Ops 6, Call of Duty’s smoothest movement system to date. Omnimovement will apply to all game modes, but be sure to use it in Multiplayer to realize the spy thriller action hero moments you’ve always dreamed of.

Weapons & equipment

When it comes to the weapons you’ll use in Multiplayer, it all starts from the moment you choose your loadout: The Weapon Menu, which has been simplified in Black Ops 6 for an intuitive and approachable experience as you level up your weapons over time. Black Ops 6 is set to bring incredible weaponry and equipment to the game – including favorite weapons from the Black Ops universe and weapons all new to the franchise. The primary and secondary weapon slots will be your mainstay, but for the first time you have a third slot specifically for equipping melee weapons, so a knife or bat is always an option when things get hot in close quarters. quarter fight.

Lastly, the Perks and Wildcard slots in your loadout will change the way you play, so make sure you think strategically when making your choice. Then, tactical and lethal equipment, as well as Field Upgrades and Scorestreaks will round out your arsenal with a range of options that unlock as you level up and progress, with some new options like the exciting War Cry Field Upgrades that unite your team, improving the movement of teammates in proximity and speed of health regeneration for a short time. Get ready to get ready!

Zombies

Round-Based Zombies is back in a big way, with Treyarch bringing features across gameplay, narrative, and maps in Black Ops 6 Zombies.

Check out the previous PlayStation Blog post for full details on Round-Based Zombies, but there are a few important things we want to remind you of. There’s a dedicated crew at the heart of Black Ops 6 Zombies’ story, which continues the Dark Aether storyline that started in Black Ops Cold War. While you can jump into Zombies with any MP operator you like, the characters Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya make up the Terminus team, drive the narrative forward, and are the gateway to the most powerful experience you can have with this mode.

Then there’s the map, which is basically a character in itself. There will be two Round Based maps at launch, Terminus and Liberty Falls, with additional maps coming in the post-launch season. We also covered the details of this map in a previous Blog post, so check it out for more details, but know that there will be no shortage of unique and terrifying environments as you and your troops battle it out in higher and higher rounds.

Lastly, the zombie-fighting tools at your disposal will get even more powerful with the return of Perk-a-Cola, Field Upgrades, Wonder Weapons, GobbleGums, Ammo Mods, and the introduction of Augments, which let you customize your Perks, Ammo Mods, and Field Upgrades.

One more thing! For the first time in Call of Duty Zombies history, if you’re playing Zombies solo, you can choose to save your solo match at any time and come back to it later, as long as you’re full health, not knocked over, dead, or actively involved in an exfil. (Surely a relief for many people).

Progress & prestige

Black Ops 6 marks a return to the more traditional Prestige system, returning to Call of Duty and bigger than ever. Players who reach and complete the Maximum level of 55 can select Prestige and restart their Leveling again (while losing some already unlocked items), but this time with the opportunity to earn exclusive rewards along the way – – we know it will be well worth the effort. But Prestige isn’t the only Progression system getting a big upgrade this year.

The Treyarch team has set out to build the most rewarding Progression and Challenges system ever present in a Call of Duty game in Black Ops 6 and there’s a ton of unlockable content thrown into the game on Day one. Earn XP by performing well, playing Objectives, earning Medals, and completing challenges, such as the Calling Card challenge and the Reticle challenge.

Additionally, new for Black Ops 6, each Weapon, Equipment, Field Upgrade, and Scorestreak in your loadout has a set of MP and Zombie Master Badges to progress as you master each Equipment.

Those are some of the high-level details you can expect for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Don’t forget to pre-order and pre-load starting today so you can jump in on October 25 and experience it for yourself.
